Learn JLPT N2 Grammar: ~から見ると/から見れば/から見て/から見ても

Express the position of judgment, "from the perspective of...".

Example:

  • 親世代から見ると、今の若者のライフスタイルには理解できないところも多いだろう。From the perspective of parents, there are many things that the lifestyle of young people today cannot be understood.
  • 日本舞踊を習い始めいて6年になる山田さんは、自分ではまだまだ下手だと言っている。しかし、まだ2か月の私から見れば山田さんの踊りは本当に美しい。Mrs. Yamada, who has been learning Japanese dance for six years, says she is still not good at it. However, from the perspective of me, who is only two months old, Mrs. Yamada's dance is really beautiful.
  • 過去の実績から見れば、彼は次期社長として妥当だろう。Judging from past achievements, he seems reasonable as the next president.

It has a similar meaning to "~からいうと" and "~からすると", but "~から見ると" can be directly followed by the character noun. "~から见ても" means "even from the perspective of...".
