The biggest characteristic of adjectives is that the ending is い, and the biggest characteristic of adjectives(V) is that the ending is だ.


Change mode

Adjective: 

  • Negative form: change the ending い to くない or くありません.
  • Past tense: change the ending い to かった.
  • Negative form in the past: change the end of the word to くなかった or くありませんでした.

Note: The word いい/よい is used instead of いい when making changes.

Adjective(V):

  • Negative form: ではありません
  • Past tense: でした
  • Negative form in the past: ではありませんでした
